A message from the Presidents
Protecting children from nicotine addiction
Dear Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure, on behalf of the European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention (ENSP) and the Turkish Green Crescent (Yeşilay), to invite you to participate in the 11th European Conference on Tobacco Control, taking place in Istanbul, Türkiye, on 4–6 November 2026. We are honoured that the conference is held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.
For more than three decades, ENSP has worked to advance evidence-based tobacco control policies throughout Europe. Today, the rapid expansion of new nicotine products has created an unprecedented threat to children and adolescents. Flavours, colours, attractive packaging and sophisticated digital promotion increasingly appeal directly to young people.
The 11th ECTC will bring together the international scientific community, health professionals, policymakers, educators, youth organisations, civil society and, for the first time, representatives of the world’s major faith communities in a united effort to protect children from nicotine addiction.
We warmly invite you to join us in Istanbul and contribute to what we hope will become a landmark event in global tobacco and nicotine prevention.
